Twelve new arrivals herald a compassionate Thanksgiving
Twelve tiny arrivals are safe and sound at Animal Place.
The turkey chicks were brought to us by Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary. They are from a hatchery and are only a week old.
Turkey chicks on hatcheries often suffer horrible mutilations. They are de-beaked and de-toed, in which a portion of their beaks and toes are cut off without pain relief.
Lucky for these chicks, they were saved before they could be disfigured.
