Peggy came to us as a small, sickly piglet who had been rescued by a high school student in Southern California. She had been born as part of a school FFA (Future Farmers of America) project. All the other piglets in the litter were born dead and Peggy had been born sickly and unable to nurse or stand. The student nursed her back to health and then refused to return her to the school when the teacher demanded that she was "school property". Peggy has had to overcome other health issues during her years with us at Animal Place, but continues to live the happy life she deserves and is a delight to us all.
