Animals Confiscated from Slaughterhouse Find Refuge at California Sanctuaries

May 7, 2008 - Animal Place and Farm Sanctuary responded to a call from Santa Cruz Animal Services and have provided sanctuary for 14 neglected animals confiscated from a Watsonville, California slaughterhouse on May 1st.

Animal Place took in six goats and two sheep on Tuesday, May 6, while the rest traveled to Farm Sanctuary in Orland.

Californians for Humane Farms
We Need Endorsements!

May 1, 2008 - Californians for Humane Farms leaped over the first hurdle, gathering enough signatures to get The Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act on the November ballot.

The fight isn't over yet, though. We need to get the message out and get other organizations, businesses and veterinarians to endorse the campaign.

You can help!

• Volunteer - Attend a Get Out the Vote Kick-off Meeting
• Download an endorsement form and ask your veterinarian to sign it! Ask your favorite businesses to sign a form too.
• Write a letter to the editor of your local paper, in support of this measure.
• Spread the word - encourage others to support the campaign and get endorsements!

Barnyard Book Signing and Farm Tour - May 31st!
