Mexican Dog Rescue:

Our Mexican Dog Rescue Program began in June, 2001 and over 150 dogs have been rescued and placed in loving homes to date. The dogs are rescued from the Refugio Franciscano, a large no-kill shelter in Mexico City that houses more than 2,000 animals.

The dogs, who face little to no chance at adoption at the Refugio, typically come from backgrounds of extreme abuse, neglect, and cruelty .

The dogs spend a two week voluntary quarantine at the sanctuary where they are nursed back to health emotionally and physically by sanctuary workers and volunteers and sterilized, vaccinated, de-wormed, and treated for fleas and ticks.

These are just a few of the faces of the delightful Mexi-mutts we have been able to rescue!
