Volunteers make the Music in the Meadow event a reality!
Volunteers are expected to work from 9:30/10:00 am - 5:30/6:00 pm, with a FREE lunch included. Animal barns close at 4:00 pm, so volunteers working with animals may stop earlier.
You do not need to be an Animal Place volunteer in order to help. Anyone is welcome to sign up to volunteer.
Please fill out the form below to get started. Volunteers must attend one of the three orientations offered. Two are webinars and do not require your physical presence, while one is an in-person orientation. We encourage you to try and attend the in-person orientation to give you the best overview of how the event is run.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose my volunteer duties? We know a lot of folks will want to work with the animals, and we don't blame you! That is not going to be possible for everyone, so please do not have your heart set on a particular area of volunteering. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences on the form. Please note: We will be particularly picky about who volunteers directly with the cows and large pigs - you MUST be comfortable around large animals. We prefer individuals who have experience working with cows or pigs to work in those areas.
Can I only volunteer for a couple of hours? We so appreciate that you wish to help, but we really do need individuals willing to commit to a whole day of volunteering. This simplifies the scheduling process and ensures we have all volunteer spots covered for the day.
How else can I help? Promote the event!! Download a flyer and put it up at your local coffee shop, book store, gym...wherever!
