School Visits

Killer the rooster and young visitor Animal Place offers private tours to qualifying schools from February through October, weather permitting. The goal of these tours is to teach children compassion through action. Students have an opportunity to interact with animals traditionally perceived only as "food".

Tours last 1-2 hours, depending on age.

Payment

Animal Place is a nonprofit sanctuary. We have a limited staff size and depend solely on the kindness of private donors to run the sanctuary. For this reason, we ask that you make a donation.

We are flexible and ask for a minimum of $5/student donation. Alternatively, students can fundraise for items on our wish-list through bake sales, etc.

Restrictions

Size of Group

Animal Place has limits on the number of students that can visit at once. We are off of a one-lane private road and, to respect our neighbor's wishes, we limit the amount of traffic coming and going from the sanctuary.

Right now, we are limiting tours to 40 students, not including adult chaperones.

Buses

We apologize, but large buses cannot visit the sanctuary - there is no room to conveniently turn around once on-site. Smaller buses and large vans are acceptable.

Dates

Tours are available Wednesday-Saturday, with some restrictions.

If you would like to begin the process for signing up for a tour, please email Marji Beach at marji@animalplace.org with School Visit in the subject line.
