Volunteer Program
So you want to do more with your love of animals? Muck out barns? Assist with running tours? Help with chicken and rabbit health checks? Educate the public through tabling or classes? Play with animals? Join our volunteer team today!
Requirements
- All prospective volunteers must attend an orientation.
- Volunteers must be sixteen and older.
- General Volunteers: Only need to attend one orientation and can come out for monthly work parties.
- Animal Care Specialist: 6-month commitment, attend four seminars, attend general orientation. More in-depth, hands-on opportunities.
- Education Docent: 6-month commitment, attend four seminars, attend general orientation. Learn to run tours and educate the public.
- Adoption Specialist: attend general orientation and two seminars. Learn how to do home checks to get farmed animals into their new homes.
- Gardening: TBD
Volunteer orientations are held at the Grass Valley location or off-site (until the requirements of our Use Permit are fulfilled). Volunteer opportunities are currently only available at our sanctuary and education center in Grass Valley.
