Food For Thought Shelter of the Month

- Jan
Each month, our Food for Thought campaign profiles a shelter that has implemented an animal friendly menu policy at their shelter events. January 2015 featured shelter is Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter (FPSAS).
Resilient in being a model animal care and adoption center, the shelter does not euthanize animals for space or length of stay, and truly lives and breaths its motto: “Compassionate. Progressive. Committed.” This motto applies even to the food served at shelter events. For the organization’s unyielding adherence to an animal friendly menu policy, Animal Place’s Food for Thought campaign could not think of a shelter more deserving of its first Shelter of the Month award for 2015.
Earlier in January, we had a chance to interview the incredible staff behind this truly deserving shelter about their motivations behind and reflections on serving plant-based food at their fundraisers. Read more here.
