Job Title: Program Manager
Reports to: Associate CEO

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our team. The Program Manager oversees all the education and advocacy programs: volunteers, interns, events, outreach, campaigns, social media, and digital marketing. Our ideal candidate is skilled in project coordination and managing people. The Program Manager will also be expected to revamp and relaunch programs that have been lying dormant during the pandemic, such as the volunteer program, outreach, and in-person events. 

Responsibilities

Management

  • Supervise employees in the Program Department
  • Meet weekly with Associate CEO to report and strategize
  • Hire, train, lead and motivate their staff

Campaigns

  • Oversee Food for Thought campaign; Animal Place’s oldest and largest campaign
  • Collaborate with humane education staff to launch and monitor advocacy campaigns
  • Monitor effectiveness of each campaign

Marketing and Communications

  • Oversee and provide support to the social media coordinator to determine and measure the effectiveness of content for each platform, including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, and Twitter
  • Supervise website content creation and ensure content is kept up to date. Monitor and make sure that Animal Place’s websites are running efficiently and securely
  • Oversee the production of the newsletter from content, copy editing, design, and print
  • Work with staff to develop content, edit and monitor the effectiveness of weekly email communication to supporters

Virtual Events & Outreach

  • Develop annual calendar and budget for virtual events 
  • Develop timeline and implementation for each event
  • Oversee several large events including the Farmed Animal Conference E-Summit and Thank the Turkeys
  • Explore, develop and implement new educational virtual events & webinars
  • Ensure projected attendance, income and expenses are met for each event
  • Research virtual and in-person speaking opportunities

Re-Establish Dormant Programs Post Covid

Volunteers/Interns

  • Re-establish volunteer and intern programs
  • Once programs are established, hire and train volunteer coordinator

In-Person Events and Outreach

  • Oversee offsite tabling events specific to Animal Place and Rescue & Adoption Center
  • Plan and implement larger onsite events

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to Animal Place’s mission of veganism and animal rights
  • Three or more years of experience in management 
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively lead program staff to create a cohesive and positive work environment
  • Team player and interested in working collaboratively
  • Ability to strategize, problem solve and take initiative
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to meet deadlines and balance multiple projects
  • Comfortable learning Salesforce, Classy, and Pardot
  • Extensive familiarity with farmed animal issues and veganism
  • Public speaking skills preferred
  • Vegan

SALARY: $45,000-50,000 per year depending on experience

BENEFITS: Health insurance after 90-day probation, 403b, vacation package and sick time’

LOCATION: This position is based out of main sanctuary in Grass Valley, Ca
