Mother’s Day MOOmosa Brunch
Join us on Saturday, May 10th from 11am-2pm at Animal Place for our Mother’s Day MOOmosa Brunch!
We’re celebrating all mother figures with mimosas, delicious plant based pastries, fun crafts, and quality time with rescued farmed animals.
Crafts include painting flower pots, planting flowers, & creating bird nest dispensers from sheared wool at the sanctuary! You’ll be able to take home or donate any crafts created!
Tickets are $40 and include drinks, pastries, craft supplies, and visiting time with the animals. Tickets for 12-years-old or younger are $25 and 2-years-old or younger are free! All proceeds directly benefit Animal Place and help us continue our mission!

Paint & Sip – 6/27
Animal Place 17314 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley, CA, United States
Join us for a Paint N Sip on Friday, June 27th at the sanctuary from 5pm-8pm.
Follow a guide as we channel our inner artists, sip on refreshing bubbly and beer, and hang with the cute rescued animals!
Tickets are $40 and include:
- A guided painting of Cauliflower the goat with all art supplies provided, beer & champagne, and a tour with the animals.
- Kids 12-years-old or younger are $25
Schedule:
- 5:00pm-5:45pm ~Â Hang with animals
- 6:00pm-8:00pm ~ Paint n Sip
Some snacks will be provided, but we recommend eating before event or bringing items with you. Any food brought to the sanctuary must be vegan.
We encourage you to purchase tickets before they sell out. No tickets will be sold at the event.

Public Guided Tour – 8/24 @ 10am
Animal Place 17314 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley, CA, United StatesJoin us for a public guided tour to visit with some of the 200+ rescued farmed animal residents who call Animal Place home and hear their stories! You will get to meet birds, goats, sheep, and rabbits! Cows and pigs may come up to the fence for treats!Â
Public guided tour tickets are $20. Your tour will last 1.5 hours and entail about 1/2 mile of walking on flat pavement, gravel, and entering pastures. Our facility is wheelchair accessible, but there are some rocky/uneven portions of the property.
To visit with the animals, pants and shin-high boots are mandatory (boots are available to borrow at the sanctuary, but in limited quantities and sizes). Boots provide added protection when interacting directly with the large animals. Socks are not provided, so please remember to bring your own. We share the property with lots of wildlife, including rattlesnakes.

Pigs & Pumpkins Event – 11/8/25 11-2 PM
Animal Place 17314 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley, CA, United StatesWondering what to do with those leftover Halloween pumpkins?
Join us Saturday, November 8th for an Open Barn, where you can meet some of our sanctuary residents, and stay to feed our pigs!
This is a free event, but please register here. Space is limited!
Schedule:
- 11:00 AM-1:00 PM: Open Barn
- Get up close with some of our rescued friends!Â
- Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required to visit with the animals.
- 1:30-2:00 PM: Pig Feeding
- BYOP (bring your own pumpkin) or just watch the fun!
- Pumpkins must be uncarved and unpainted.
Food for Humans:
- Food Vendor: Vegan Circus will be serving up plant-based, non-GMO versions of your favorite fair foods!
- Food Drive: Want to give back to the community? We’re accepting plant-based, shelf-stable, and unexpired goods to be donated to Nevada County Food Bank.

Animal Place’s MeatOut Event
Join us for a fun-filled day rooted in compassion. Experience delicious plant-based food and drinks from some of the most popular eateries and companies, participate in our raffle with amazing prizes, enjoy a live cooking demo by Chef Lisa while your kids play in our Kids’ Corner, speak with leaders from a variety of incredible animal and local organizations, and hang out with our adorable, rescued farmed animals!
What is MeatOut?
MeatOut Day is a plant-based holiday that aims to encourage people to question their consumption of animal products. It was started in 1985 by the Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM). March 20, the first day of spring, was selected as symbolic of renewal and turning over a new leaf.
