Happy Cows Live on Sanctuaries

Did you know 75% of all cows on dairy farms don’t ever graze on green grass? That most cows in California live in feedlots, not pastures?

Not at Animal Place! Sanctuaries give animals a chance to express their instinctive, natural behaviors while being respected as unique individuals. At Animal Place, the cow herd is rotated to fresh pasture every few months – it saves money on hay and, perhaps most importantly, it gives the cows something exciting to do! The cows LOVE the adventure.

This past week, the cows moved to a new pasture and we think they liked it:

What a wonderful thing to do. The cows get exercise and anticipation of fresh green grass, wow, yummmm!

I love to see your “happy” cows. I only wish more of them were so lucky, and that more people cared about animal welfare. They are such sweet, gentle and friendly creatures, as are chickens, goats, pigs, sheep, etc.

I greatly admire the work you are doing and hope you continue to save as many farm animals and a select group of other species (i.e., rabbits) that your sanctuary can comfortably care for.

I loved seeing these HAPPY and HEALTHY cows! It’s so good to know that there is a place where cows are treated with respect and kindness. The people taking care of these cows were having fun too. Like the one in the golf cart calling to them to “come on cows, let’s gooo”! ha ha That would be so much fun to do. I’m a proud Animal Place member.

It is wonderful to see that there are not only animal abusers, rather animal lovers. I thank all those who have love and compassion for our precious pets of any sort (sheep, fauns, bunnies and all other creatures). Your own lives will be so much more significant and beautiful, full of purpose in the only life as we know it. Thank you!

The only thought that came to mind was: Bless those people. I am so grateful for the humans who care for all the beautiful, formerly abused creatures.

I love seeing this. It reminds me of my aunt and uncle in Pa in Stroustown. They had a dairy farm and cows were always in the pasture.

Such beautiful animals. They deserve the best that man has to offer. I do not ear beef.

As a child we spent our summers in the mountains at a bungalow colony. Across the road was a farm and every day I would cross the road to pet the cows. As soon as they saw me they came to the fence to be petted and talked to. They were so happy. They had plenty of good grass and clover to eat as well as being very social. Those were good times and I am glad I have them to remember.

This is what God intended for them. We can not argue with God.

It’s always relaxing to see a dairy herd moving in that relaxed way they have, from field to field.
One thing we can do, if we are dairy users, is purchase organic dairy products. Especially important is buying “grass milk” from a dairy such as Organic Dairy. That encourages the dairies to move the herbs from one grass pasture to the next. And the milk is delicious!

It makes me feel so good knowing that this kind of compassion exists and is being shared with these beautiful animals… and so close to my home. We are all very fortunate to have Animal Place in our neck of the woods!
